The Clicking Needles is an initiative designed to enhance wellbeing and remove social isolation for the residents of the rural communities of Eastern Perthshire.
The group was formed at the end of 2008 as a knitting group. When the group started, it was decided by the members that every item they create would be used for charity causes.
They have previously supported charities, such as Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, Mary’s Meals Backpack Project in Malawi, Montrose Sailor’s Appeal, Blythswood Care’s Shoebox Appeal and the Neonatal Unit at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
The group gather weekly on Monday afternoons between 1:30 and 4pm at the Kirkmichael Session House – all are welcome. |
