The Men’s Shed is an idea which originated in Australia, to create somewhere men can call their own, where they can spend time with other men sharing skills, knowledge and interests in a relaxed environment. Men’s sheds provide a place for men to gather and participate in a variety of activities whilst supporting each other. The concept is now starting to take off in Scotland so if you or someone you know would like to be involved in this exciting project or to find out more about the “Carse of Gowrie and District Men’s Shed”

We now have a temporary ‘home’ in the ‘Aviva building’ i.e. Swan House, The Technology Park, Dundee, DD2 1GB. We have several rooms, including a meeting room with computing facilities, workshops for joinery, wood turning, and metalwork, and our new kitchen. The group is meeting every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon from 1.00 to 4.00pm. Mondays are ‘mixed’ i.e. men and women members whilst Wednesdays and Fridays are now for men only. Please feel free to come and see what we have to offer- a good time for new people would be about 1.30pm.
